Ilaria Ferretti
Born 1980, Fabriano, Italy.
Expert in FineArt printing techniques and darkroom processes, she creates visionary works characterized by a personal aesthetic, which merges dark thoughts and universal beauty. Her poetics has been defined as “Punk-Romantik” by Pippo Ciorra.
Ilaria Ferretti (Fabriano, Italy, 1980) grew up in her family’s restaurant, spending many childhood afternoons sat on the dishwasher in the kitchen, watching her mother at work at the stove. In ’99 she moved to Turin (Italy) to study photography and her way into the art world. She started her artistic career upon graduating in photography at the Triennial Course of IED – Istituto Europeo di Design (European Institute of Design) in Turin (IT).
Represented by MUST GALLERY (Lugano, Switzerland) from 2014 to 2019, she is now represented currently by Ares Contemporary (Lugano, Switzerland).
She lives and works between Le Marche and Turin (Italy).
